Growth is calculated from a curated list of ~45 major and emerging economies (the markets realistically worth evaluating for most manufacturers), comparing each one's total imports from the world in the start year vs. the end year. Figures are from the UN Comtrade Database; not every country reports every year, so a market missing from the list may simply not have reported yet.
